ABOUT KNOTS SHIP MANAGEMENT

From a Dream Without Borders
to a Business Without Borders.

Knots Ship Management was built with a simple ambition. To create a maritime company that combines professional expertise with something equally important: trust.

Founded and led by maritime entrepreneur Khushbu Singh, Knots has grown from a founder-led venture into an organisation serving clients across borders.

WHO WE ARE

A Maritime Partner Built Around Trust

Knots Ship Management is a Navi Mumbai based maritime management company providing integrated ship management and maritime services to shipowners, offshore operators and marine businesses.

Technical management, crew management, commercial management and marine consultancy sit under one roof, so our partners can rely on a single team across the operational needs of a vessel.

How we work matters as much as what we do. Each engagement combines professional expertise, disciplined operations and people focused management, shaped around the requirements of the partner we are working with.

OUR STORY

Building a company is rarely a straight line.

  1. Built the Hard Way

Knots was built through long days, difficult decisions, setbacks, learning and the determination to keep moving forward.

  2. A Defining Milestone

Then came a defining milestone: our first overseas client. Someone on the other side of the world, in a different time zone and a different market, chose Knots.

  3. Good Work Has No Borders

For our team, that moment represented more than a new client. It was confirmation that good work has no borders.

  4. Our First Overseas Office

Today, Knots has established its first overseas office and continues to expand its international relationships and capabilities.

We are proud of where we have come from. We are even more excited about where we are going.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Experience earned through people and practice.

In maritime management, experience is not a claim. It is built over time.

It comes from the people we work with, the operational knowledge they carry, a working understanding of maritime regulation and the consistency of getting the job done properly, voyage after voyage. The figures alongside reflect that work to date.

OUR APPROACH

Professional in Practice. Personal in Partnership.

Good maritime management depends on discipline and on relationships. We run operations through clear processes with safety and compliance built in, and we stay close to the people we work for, so our support reflects what each operation actually requires.

  1. 01

    Understand the Requirement

Every engagement starts with the vessel, the trade and the owner's expectations. We listen first, then shape our support around what the operation needs.

  2. 02

    Put Qualified People in Place

Seafarers and shore staff are matched to the requirement, with documentation, certification and medical fitness checked before anyone joins.

  3. 03

    Operate with Discipline

Work is carried out through structured processes that keep safety and compliance in view at every stage of the operation.

  4. 04

    Communicate and Stay Consistent

Clear, regular communication keeps owners informed. Consistent delivery over time is what turns an engagement into a long term relationship.

OUR PEOPLE

People Make the Difference

Ships, systems and processes are only as strong as the people responsible for them.

That is why we give people the same attention we give operations. Seafarers are placed on the strength of verified qualifications, and they are supported by shore based professionals who understand what the work on board involves.

  • Qualified Seafarers

Crew placed on the basis of verified qualifications, certification and medical fitness.

  • Shore Based Expertise

Experienced professionals ashore supporting technical, crew and marine operations.

  • Responsible Crew Management

Structured recruitment, rotation planning and continuous support for crew at sea and ashore.

  • Clear Communication

Straightforward, timely contact with owners, operators and crew.

  • Human Accountability

People who take ownership of their work and answer for the outcome.

ABOUT KHUSHBU

Meet Khushbu Singh

Managing DirectorKnots Ship Management

  • Building a maritime business.
  • Creating opportunities.
  • Taking people along.
Khushbu Singh, Managing Director of Knots Ship Management

HER STORY

Building Something Meaningful in Maritime.

For Khushbu, shipping is fundamentally a people business.

Khushbu Singh is a maritime entrepreneur and the Managing Director of Knots Ship Management. Her journey in maritime has been shaped by a determination to build something meaningful in an industry where women have historically been underrepresented.

She entered the industry without a ready-made roadmap. What she had was a willingness to learn, the determination to build and the belief that there was a place for her, and for other women, in maritime. That belief continues to shape the way she leads.

For Khushbu, shipping is fundamentally a people business. Behind every vessel is a crew, an owner, a client, a family and a network of professionals whose decisions keep global trade moving.

Her approach to Knots combines operational discipline and professional standards with a strong focus on people, trust and long-term relationships.

A GLOBAL JOURNEY

From India to the World.

A defining moment came when Knots secured its first overseas client. For Khushbu, it was a deeply personal business milestone: a company built from the ground up in India had earned the trust of a client on the other side of the world.

Today, Knots has expanded beyond its home market and established its first overseas office. Her ambition is clear: to build a genuinely global maritime organisation while retaining the personal accountability and human approach that defined the company from the beginning.

WOMEN IN MARITIME

The Power of Women Supporting Women.

Khushbu is passionate about creating greater opportunities for women in shipping.

Her own experience of navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry has shaped her commitment to ensuring that the next generation of women does not have to enter maritime without support, community or role models.

Her involvement with WISTA India, Maritime SheEO and wider maritime platforms has strengthened her belief in the power of women supporting women.

She believes the industry must do more than invite women in. It must create the conditions for them to stay, grow and lead.

  • WISTA India
  • Maritime SheEO
  1. Stay.
  2. Grow.
  3. Lead.

HER LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY

Show Up. Stay Resilient. Build Together.

Khushbu's approach to leadership is straightforward.

  1. Show up.

    Especially when things are difficult.

  2. Stay resilient.

Setbacks are part of the job. Learn, adapt and start again.

  3. Build together.

Success should never be a solitary pursuit.

  4. Take people with you.

The strongest businesses create opportunities for others to grow.

A MESSAGE FROM KHUSHBU

I want to build a company that people can trust. A company where our clients know that we will take responsibility, our seafarers know that they matter, and our partners know that our word means something.

We are ambitious about where Knots can go. But as we grow, I want us to remain grounded in the values that brought us here: integrity, professionalism, people and trust.

The world is our opportunity. And we are just getting started.
